911 Center

The Lehigh County 9-1-1 Center was established in 1975 to provide emergency communications services to the citizens of Lehigh County. In June of 2019, we consolidated the operations of the Allentown 9-1-1 Center into our facility.

What is a 9-1-1 Emergency?
A fire, an automobile accident, a robbery, a burglary, a prowler outside your home, when someone is sick or injured so badly that they need to go to the hospital.

Non-emergency calls for areas in Lehigh County, not including the City of Bethlehem should be made to 610-437-5252. Callers in in the City of Bethlehem callers should dial 610-865-7171.

WHEN IN DOUBT, DIAL 9-1-1. A Dispatcher will handle your call accordingly.

Requesting 9-1-1 Records from Lehigh County

In Pennsylvania, copies of 9-1-1 call audio are exempt from public disclosure and as such are not able to be released to the public.

Individuals or law firms requesting copies of records should contact the 9-1-1 Center's Records Custodian at 610-782-4652 for further information and to obtain records that may be available for release. Please note that many records related to 9-1-1 calls are exempt from public disclosure under Pennsylvania's Right-to-Know law.

Public Safety Radio System Project

The County of Lehigh has embarked on the beginning stages of a new public safety radio system project. Updates will be provided as necessary on this section of our webpage.

Yes, 9-1-1 in Lehigh County can accept Text Messages.

IN AN EMERGENCY, WHENEVER POSSIBLE DIAL 9-1-1 from a regular or wireless (cellular) phone to access help. Text messages to 9-1-1 should only be used when you are unable to make a voice call.
