Community Emergency Response Teams (CERT)
The Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) Program educates people about disaster preparedness for hazards that may impact their area and trains them in basic disaster response skills, such as fire safety, light search and rescue, team organization, and disaster medical operations. This valuable course is designed to help you protect yourself, your family, your neighbors and your neighborhood in an emergency situation.
Why take the CERT Training?
Well, it's like paying for car insurance. You might never need either; you hope not to. But if the occasion arises, having the CERT training, just like having car insurance, means you are as ready as you can be to help yourself, your family and your neighborhood.
CERT Training Course - The course is 16 hours of instruction and "hands on" training and includes the following areas:
Training classes are held in the Spring and Fall and the 16 hours are broken into 6, 2-hour and 1, 4-hour classes, usually on a Wednesday or Thursday evening from 6:30 pm – 8:30 pm. Class times, location and registration links are updated on this page when classes are scheduled.
