"Electronic Waste:

"What do I do with my old TVs and computer monitors better known as a Covered Device?"

ALWAYS CHECK WITH YOUR MUNICIPALITY FIRST!  Some of the Lehigh County municipalities have been active in scheduling electronic waste collection events for their residents.  This is paid for by your individual municipal tax dollars where you live so...take advantage of what you're paying for.

Your trash hauler will no longer accept them at the curb.  They are no longer allowed to be disposed of in landfills but rather, they must now be recycled.  Please see the link for the Covered Device Act below under "Links".

Lehigh County does not hold Electronics Recycling events.

This is because rather than residents only being able to dispose of these items during one day events once or twice a year as in other counties, we're fortunate enough to have at least two "R2 Certified" electronics recyclers operating locally doing business on a continual basis as well as many retailers. These companies are permitted by the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection to recycle those items. Check out the companies listed in the links in the upper left-hand corner of this page.

Again, for contact information for those companies, please click on the links below, or call the Lehigh County Solid Waste, Recycling, Electronic Waste, and Household Hazardous Waste Hotline at 610-782-3073.  If you leave a message, we will be happy to return your call as soon as possible to provide you with this information.
