1803 HOUSE

Saturday, December 7th is the "1803 House Old Fashioned Christmas" from 10pm to 2pm.  Come and experience what Christmas was like in 1803 and enjoy the festivities. There will be a fire in an open-hearth; holiday treats; a Christmas tree with colonial decorations; the annual decorated wreath sale; ornament crafting for the children; "A Very Merry Holiday Surprise Raffle"; homemade colonial holiday items for sale; holiday tours and so much more.  The Emmaus Historical Society, the Knauss Homestead and the Shelter House will also be open. Plus, so many holiday activities throughout Emmaus.  Hope to see you at the 1803 House for the festivities!!!

Third in the series:  'A Day In The Life of Altitude Marketing (Local Business)' featuring Altitude Marketing, JG Press, Buss Paint & Wallpaper, and Armetta's Italian Restaurant & Pub.

Fourth in the series: 'Mother & Son' featuring a young mother and her toddler son enjoying the sights and sounds of the Borough by visiting Let's Play Books Bookstore, First Commonwealth Federal Credit Union, Rita's Italian Ice, and face painting by Funtastic Faces.

Fifth in the series: 'Young Couple' featuring a young couple residing in Emmaus who meet up after the wife ends her shift at New Tripoli Bank to go to Laura's Custom Framing & Fine Arts, Vinyl Press Signs & Graphics, and HOUSE and BARN.

Emmaus Main Street Partners

The Borough of Emmaus is ideally situated between Route I-78/309, the Pennsylvania Turnpike, PA Route 29, and many major local roadways.  Our central location provides easy, fast access to major markets and many amenities.  Our thoughtful planning has provided a walk-able community with easy access to businesses, churches, parks, and schools.  If car is your preferred means of travel, Emmaus has ample free parking for business patrons.  Park and walk to the diverse and unique types of  businesses located within our Borough.  Emmaus is also home to East Penn School District, consistently rated as one of the top school districts in the region.

The Emmaus Main Street Partners (EMSP) was officially incorporated in 1995 as a non-profit program to support and revitalize the Emmaus historic downtown.  Funding was provided by the State Department of Community and Economic Development with initial matching funds provided by the Borough of Emmaus upon its inception.  Since that time, the Emmaus Main Street Partners have become a proud partner of the Greater Lehigh Valley Chamber of Commerce. 

The Emmaus Main Street Partners strive to improve the quality of life and the economic vitality of a vibrant and active Emmaus community through collaborative efforts among business owners, residents, volunteers, and other partners.

Our Emmaus Main Street Board of Directors relies on a handful of committees to accomplish action items to better our community.  Some of those committees include:

  • Membership
  • Ad Hoc Events (Golf, Old Fashioned Christmas, Farewell to Summer, etc.)

Highlights of the Emmaus Main Street Partners

  • Community events - Old Fashioned Christmas; Lucky Bucks Bingo, East Penn Restaurant Week, Farewell to Summer Festival, Emmaus & Friends Golf Tournament.
  • Borough-wide Marketing Campaign - to promote Emmaus in the valley and to entice visitors to shop, dine, and explore Emmaus.
  • Emma the Mule is located in front of the Run Inn!
  • Grand Opening Ribbon Cutting Ceremonies - the EMSP hosts grand openings and ribbon cutting ceremonies for new businesses and arranges press coverage.
