Lehigh County’s Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED) focuses on enhancing the quality of life of our communities by concentrating on the revitalization of our cities and boroughs, spurring economic growth, and supporting regional partnerships among our municipalities.

The department’s grant programs have supported high priority projects of the County’s twenty-five municipalities, aimed at enriching their economic viability by upgrading aging infrastructure, supporting improvements within the downtowns, and assisting agencies focused on providing safe, affordable and sustainable housing.

Due to high demand and limited funding, Lehigh County is no longer accepting Emergency Rental Assistance Program (ERAP) applications as of October 1, 2023.

Applicants with unapproved applications will be promptly informed.

Lehigh County COVID-19 Relief Nonprofit Block Grant Program Application

The American Recovery Plan (ARP) has funding available to eligible nonprofits to be administered by the County in partnership with United Way of the Greater Lehigh Valley and to approved by the Lehigh County Board of Commissioners.

Lehigh County COVID-19 Relief Small Business Grant - Third Round - CLOSED

$10 million of Lehigh County COVID-19 Local Fiscal Recovery Fund has been designated by the Lehigh County Board of Commissioners for the Lehigh County COVID-19 Relief Small Business Grant Program. 

In partnership with the Greater Lehigh Valley Chamber of Commerce, Lehigh County will allocate an estimated $2 million in funding for local Lehigh County businesses with 100 or fewer employees.  Eligible businesses can apply for up to $15,000 in order to help mitigate the impact of COVID-19 and its related expenses.

Businesses located in Lehigh County that have not received funding from Lehigh County under the American Rescue Plan Act in 2021 ARE eligible to apply.

Businesses located in Lehigh County that have not received a grant through Lehigh County or have not received a grant in 2020 under the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act ARE eligible to apply.

PA C-PACE Property Assessed Clean Energy for Lehigh County

FINANCE YOUR COMMERICAL PROJECT WITH C-PACE

Commercial Property Assessed Clean Energy (C-PACE) is a financing tool that enables building owners to obtain low-cost, long-term financing for energy efficiency, water conservation, and renewable energy projects.  Benefits of financing through C-PACE include up to 100% financing and terms of up to 30 years to match project payback periods.

ELIGIBLE IMPROVEMENTS THROUGH C-PACE. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . The following types of improvements are eligible for commercial properties using C-PACE financing in Pennsylvania:

  • Energy Efficient Equipment Installation (HVAC, boilers, lighting, etc.)
  • Renewable Energy Systems
  • Energy Storage
  • Water Conservation Features
