eRecording

You may record your documents electronically through Simplifile, CSC, and ePN, three nationwide online document submitters, ready to accept your documents for electronic filing.  eRecording reduces document rejection rate through electronic calculation of fees and taxes. Documents are usually recorded within the same day and if rejected can be corrected and sent back immediately for recording.

Please Note: Any recording expenses resulting from accidentally submitting a document in error or submitting the same document more than once will be paid by the submitter – NO REFUNDS WILL BE GIVEN

eRecording Maps

eRecording Maps

All types of maps may be eRecorded through Simplifile, CSC, and ePN.
The Recorder of Deeds Division will not keep a physical
copy of the recorded map regardless of the method of submission.

Size and Margin Requirements

  • Dimension/size of map (width X length) is required to be on the upper left-hand corner of each map. It may be handwritten.
  • All maps shall be drawn true to scale, and submitted as a TIF/TIFF image.
  • Maps shall be no larger than 36 inches either by width or length to accommodate printing copies.
  • One inch margin is required on all sides for the electronic imprint of the instrument # and # of pages which is printed on the top of the page, depending on the direction the map is scanned in.
  • All areas of the map must be legible.
  • The maps must be reproducible for printing copies. Any text under shaded areas or in colored areas must be legible when copied.
  • Must be scanned in black & white unless there is a true need for color.
  • In eRecording, the recorder’s block is not filled in. A recording information line is electronically imprinted on the top of each page with the instrument # and number of pages of the map.
  • An ending page is attached as the last page of the document with the recording information. The eRecorded pages are the official recorded version in its electronic form.
  • Maps are treated as any other eRecorded document. The signatures must be original wet signatures with the proper acknowledgment. After signing, the documents are scanned and submitted for eRecording.
  • Signatures must be in dark ink, black or dark blue, so they are reproducible when scanned.
  • It is the responsibility of the submitter and the notary to ensure that all signatures are original signatures.
  • For certified copies, Recorder of Deeds staff will print out a copy in the office and add our certification stamp with a staff signature and date. An actual certified copy stamp states that the document is a true and correct copy of the original document recorded.
  • Maps recorded in color retain the color in the electronic version but any copies are black and white.
