  • Program Description:

MST is an intensive family and community-based treatment that addresses the multiple determinants of serious antisocial behavior in juvenile offenders ages 11-17 years old.  This level of care provides individual therapy in the home at the family's convenience.  A cognitive behavioral therapy model is used in treating chronic, violent, or substance abusing juvenile offenders at high risk of out-of-home placement.  Services are delivered 2 to 20 hours a week for 3-6 months.  This level of care provides 24-hour crisis intervention for the duration of the program.

  • Process:
    • A psychiatrist or psychologist completes an evaluation prescribing Multisystemic Therapy.

    • The consumer, parent or case manager can contact a provider's office to schedule an appointment. 
    • An ISPT meeting (Interagency Service Planning Team) is held and request for authorization packet is submitted to MBH to determine medical necessity. 
    • This service requires an approval prior to starting.
