The Borough Business Revitalization Program (BBRP) seeks to assist participating communities in their efforts of providing economically healthy, vibrant, pedestrian- friendly, and aesthetically pleasing downtowns for their residents by promoting their events and providing technical assistance and financial resources on a regional level. The BBRP is a regional Main Street Program made up of local government officials, business owners, active citizens and paid staff from the Greater Lehigh Valley Chamber of Commerce. It is a joint effort of Lehigh and Northampton Counties, the Greater Lehigh Valley Chamber of Commerce, the Greater Lehigh Valley Chamber of Commerce Foundation and the seven participating boroughs: Alburtis, Bangor, Bath, Catasauqua, Coopersburg, Hellertown and Pen Argyl.
Façade Grant Program
Since its inception in 2007, the façade grant program has been one of this program’s signature projects. Designed primarily for business owners and residential property owners within each participating community’s targeted area for redevelopment, this reimbursement-based grant program awarded 50% of the project costs up to $5,000.00.
One hundred six projects were completed in the ten communities that have participated in the BBRP. Approximately $322,000.00 in state and local grant funds were awarded which completed over $837,000.00 in project costs.
